In response to Pat Buchanan's article, "Rogue Congress."

"This is about preserving and protecting the integrity of the institution of the presidency. It is about the right of America's head of state and head of government to receive the candid counsel of his most trusted advisers."
Where were all of you during the impeachment?
Now, we have an administration that is actually breaking laws, ignoring the Constitution, running wild and using every dirty political partisan trick in the book, and all of you wish to ignore it?
What about following our laws? Is that not part of this administration’s duty?
- Lying the country into a war
- Manipulating intelligence to fit pre-conceived agendas
- Ignoring intelligence that does not support their agenda
- Attacking and firing experts, since 2002/3 who tried to warn these policies were wrong, ill conceived, and some down right lies being told
- Wasting billions of dollars in Iraq and New Orleans
- Allowing the REAL terrorist in Afghanistan to regroup
- Complete degradation of our Military
- Exposing CIA agents
- Spying on Americans without any oversight
- Cheney profiteering from Halliburton- Using the office for personal gain!
What does it take for any of you to see the real character, or lack thereof, of the members on this Administration?
The separation of powers does not mean we allow a president to run over our laws, rules, and Constitution. All of the items on the list above show this Administration holds no respect for our system of government.
When Buchanan states, “This is about preserving and protecting the integrity of the institution of the presidency.” It is a hollow cry. Separation of powers does not mean unaccountability, In fact, it is the opposite. If this administration removed counsel because they were too close to exposing fraud or refusing to abuse the office and the laws, we need to know.
So far, that is exactly what this is looking like.

Protecting the integrity of the institution of the presidency mandates that this and every other deed be scrutinized. Accountability of the presidency must be maintained. And this abuse of office be answered for.
We put a president under oath for a sex scandal. There is no reason that these people not be placed under the same standard while investigating the corruptive use of our legal system.

Her most prominent case involved Cunningham. The former Rancho Santa Fe congressman is in federal prison, and indictments of others connected to the case may be forthcoming. Her office is also prosecuting Francisco Javier Arellano-Félix, a suspected Mexican drug kingpin, who is in federal custody in San Diego facing charges that could lead to the death penalty. Two San Diego city councilmen were convicted of corruption charges by Lam's office, but a judge reversed the jury's verdict for one of the men.
Lam spent almost a year personally prosecuting a national hospital chain that she said used complex agreements to pay off local doctors in return for referrals. That case ended in a mistrial.
